The chateau has all the amenities of home, and the setting is absolutely gorgeous. I've done the cooking tour twice, and learnt so much each time, both in the kitchen with Nicole and on the country-side tours with Klaus. And the meals...well, words can't express how wonderful they are. I'm already planning my next trip...I wouldn't even consider staying anywhere else."

"We were privileged to stay for eight nights in late July at the Château de Quarante near Béziers and Narbonne in southern France. We opted for the cooking classes and touring the Languedoc region, which is just west of Provence and equally beautiful and varied, but less crowded with tourists. Nicole and Klaus Neukirch are wonderfully attentive and helpful hosts and they had arranged a full and thoroughly enjoyable program of instruction in French cuisine in their homey kitchen, fascinating tours some of the historic towns and beautiful countryside, and delicious and innovative dinners, elegantly served to us at the Château. Nicole and Klaus speak perfect American English and are full of enthusiasm for the cuisine and culture of France and are especially welcoming to Americans, since they spent 30 years in the US. The Château de Quarante itself is well appointed and most comfortable, matching the warmth and welcome we received from Nicole and Klaus. A enthusiastic '10' for this very special experience."

After listening to Klaus's riveting stories about the region and the historical sites, our only regret, was not hiring Klaus for a tour.
